Dreams are Possible
Speaks to Motivate Students

On Friday August 28, 2009 Mr. Antonio Bowick returned to Slocomb High School to speak to seniors about the possibilities in life. Mr. Bowick is a 1985 Slocomb High School Graduate. He went on to become a professional football player.

Mr. Bowick received his BS from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga through a football scholarship. While in college, he  won numerous awards. Later, he was was drafted by the NFL and played for the Atlanta Falcons for two years. He also played three years with the World Football League. He played arena football for 13 years, winning various awards such as the "Iron Man" award. After retiring from football, he became an assistant coach, and is now a head coach of the Albany Firebirds in the A2 Arena Football League, in Albany, New York.

Mr. Bowick shared with students about his success and times when things were not so smooth. He encouraged them to always remember to have character and integrity, even when no one was watching. His speech was very moving.

We are so thankful that Mr. Bowick took time to encourage the students at Slocomb High School. His dedication and hard work inspire us all.
